As if
that’s not enough, Jeff flew home & helped PGI’s founder, Arnie Goldman,
make ABC history.
Roche, bowling as Goldman’s doubles partner (in a doubles
league held at ThunderBowl Lanes, longtime
home of the highly famed “Detroit All-Star Classic” league located in
Allen Park, Michigan), shot games of : 224-300-267 and
280 - 1071. His
four games supported Arnie’s 1169 effort which presently stands as the
2nd highest sanctioned 4-game total in ABC history.
His games were: 279-300-290-300.
And, in case you’re
wondering, his only 2 spares were a solid 10 in the 9th frame & the
first shot he delivered on his 2nd pair of lanes (w/out practice) was a
7-pin. [For 46 out of a possible 48.]
Their 600 (team game) ties that all-time ABC mark as well.
The 2240 8-game (combined doubles) total they registered, sets a new
all-time record in that department, & their 1660 (791 & 869) ranks as 3rd
highest on the ABC’s all-time list.
Goldman also bowled a 300 game in the 6th round, but
fell one win short from TV at the Mini Eliminator in Las Vegas.
*Additional congratulations go out to PGI
user Nunzio
Marino, for being named the Michigan Major’s 2003 “Bowler of the Year.”
